KultureCity Sensory Inclusive
We have resources for visitors with sensory issues. Sensory bags are available for check out at our front desk. Before visiting our facility or attending our events, guests may explore our “Social Story” on the KultureCity app.
CLASS REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center offers class sessions. The registration start dates are based on your membership or resident status and begin at 6 a.m. on the listed dates.

Individuals who are not members will check in at the Express Membership Kiosk in order to gain access to the Recreation Center for their class or activity only.
Interior Construction Has Begun
Construction began July 16, 2024, with exterior site work, closing the East FitHub (Strength Hub) Aug. 26, 2024. On Sept. 3, 2024, interior construction began. The Main Gyms will close in August 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in April 2026. Below is a more detailed breakdown of these different phases. August 2025 – Phase 3 begins once West Gym is complete. Livonia Senior Wellness Center should be near completion. Main Gyms, walking track and Fit Hub (Cardio Hub) will be unavailable as new spaces are built. Half of the MAC Gym will remain unavailable, but new gyms on the west side will be available. The climbing wall and Tree Fort will not be impacted. The front desk will be reconstructed for a brief duration.
November 2025 – Livonia Senior Wellness Center opens!
Spring 2026 – Construction at the Recreation Center is estimated to be completed.

Register in person! The Kirksey Recreation Center is located at 15100 Hubbard (Five Mile and Hubbard).

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK
We want the registrants in our programs to be aware that when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. As a loss prevention measure and risk management standard, participants are required to sign an Acknowledgment of Risk form for certain classes and activities. If a participant is under 18 years of age, the signature of a parent or legal guardian is necessary. It is recommended that participants in program/classes involving strenuous activity consult with their physician prior to the start of their program/class.
AGE VERIFICATION
For most program/classes, age requirements will be as of the date of the first class, unless noted. Age requirements are established for the benefit of the student and instructor as well as for safety. Please verify that your child is within the specified guidelines.
EFT membership fees are collected monthly. To stop EFT payments, you must submit a cancellation form with a 30-day notice.
FEES
Subject to change through a resolution adopted by the Livonia Parks and Recreation Commission and/or Livonia City Council.
There shall be no refunds for daily visit or 10-visit pass purchases.
PHOTO RELEASE
Photographs, digital images, or videotape of program participants and spectators taken by department representatives may be used for future promotional or marketing material. Cameras, cell phones or any other devices capable of taking still and/or video pictures are prohibited from being used in the Kirksey Recreation Center locker rooms, family changing room or restrooms. Thank you for your cooperation.
PROGRAM / CLASS VIEWING
To assist our instructors in providing an optimum learning experience for your child, we ask that you refrain from entering the teaching area. This helps eliminate distractions for both the instructor and student. Space permitting, parents may be invited to view their children's progress at specified times. Seating areas are available while your child is in a program/class. Your understanding is appreciated.
